Business Cards Details
- In many instances your business card is a first introduction to South Dakota State University.
- It is important that this first contact convey a graphic identity that will be reinforced in subsequent contacts.
- The university offers two different business cards styles.
- One has information on two sides and is predominantly blue.
- The second version is one-sided on white paper stock.
- Information contained on business cards is subject to space limitations.
- The accompanying examples indicate the maximum number of lines available for this information.
- Information on business cards is limited to (per Board of Regents policy 1.7.6):
- Name
- Academic credentials (courtesy titles such as Dr., Mrs. and Mr. are prohibited)
- Title
- Department
- College
- Addresses are limited to building, room number and box number (street addresses are not used).
- Telephone number (second phone number may be included)
- Individual’s institutional email address
- Web links of official institutional websites and social media platforms (Only sdstate.edu websites and official college or department social media sites are permitted. Personal websites, email addresses and social media accounts are not permitted).
- Primary institutional SD logo lock-up
- To ensure visual consistency, all official university business cards will be designed by University Marketing and Communications.
To order business cards, please visit UMC's Creative Services and follow the instructions for requesting a project. Business card orders are sent to the printer on the 1 and 15 of every month. It takes 7-10 days for printing. The cost for 500 cards is $169.45 and 1,000 cards is $190.00 (these prices include both the design and printing fee).
Use of the university business card to promote private enterprise is not permitted.
