Hey Jacks! We're excited to have you living on campus, and to make things easier, we've compiled a list of items that we provide, what you can bring and what to leave at home:
What We Provide:
These items are provided for each student and will be ready and waiting for you in your room:
- Desk
- Desk chair

- Loftable bed
- Extra-long twin mattress (36"x80")
- Closet
Each room is supplied with the following items:
- Blinds/window covering
- Wastebasket
- Outlets
- Internet access
The following are available in each Residence Hall:
- Vacuum/broom
- Rubber mallets to adjust lofted beds
- Television
- Laundry facilities
- Kitchen facilities
*E-bikes, E-scooters and other personal electronic vehicles cannot be stored in any campus building.
You Can Bring:
Below is a list of suggested items that will be useful during your time living on campus:
- Extra-long twin sheets
- Towel (Bath, hand, washcloth)
- Futons (78" or less will fit under bed)
- Laundry basket, detergent and fabric softener (for HE machines)
- Clothes hanger
- Trash bags
- Toiletries
- Flip-flops for showering
- 3M or similar poster products (Binnewies, Young, Pierson, Mathews, Brown, Hansen, Waneta Storage bins/tubs
- Desk lamp
- Television/mini projector/tablet
- Computer/laptop (Information/Recommendations)
- Appliances with thermostats, no open coils and automatic shut-offs (i.e. crock pots, coffee pots, toasters, popcorn poppers)
- Refrigerator (cannot exceed 1.5 amps or 5 cubic feet)
- UL approved power strips
- Free standing furnishing (i.e. entertainment centers, shelving)
- Cooking utensils, cookware, dishes
- Umbrella, raincoat, boots
- Flashlight and batteries
- First aid kit/medicine
- Medications
- Prescriptions
- Over the counter (Tylenol, diarrhea remedy, throat lozenges, cough syrup, etc.)
- Empty spray bottles (liquid disinfectant available at front desk)
- Hand sanitizer
- Face Coverings
Below are suggested items for you and your roommate to share. We encourage you to reach out to your roommate and coordinate details:
- Microwave (cannot exceed 700 Watts)
- Carpet or area rug (rooms in Ben Reife, Hyde, Schultz and Honors are carpeted)
Below are additional items suggested for those living in a suite:
- Bathroom cleaning supplies

- Toilet paper

The following items are not permitted in campus housing.
- Homemade or rented lofts
- Bed risers
- Sofa bed
- Non-UL approved power strips
- Extension cords
- Refrigerators over 1.5 amps or 5 cubic feet
- Open element appliances, such as:
- Space heaters
- Immersion heaters
- Kerosene heaters
- Hot Plates
- Broilers
- Ovens
- Electric skillet/fry pans
- Pizza cookers (i.e. Pizza Pizzazz)
- Air fryers
- Sun lamps, halogen lamps, lava lamps and neon signs
- Window air conditioning units
- Outside antennae/satellite dishes
- Potpourri pots (candles and electric)
- Candle warmers
- Carpet padding
- Nails and screws
- Living - or formerly living - trees, garland, etc.
- Wall paint
- Alternative lights bulbs (i.e. black light bulbs, color bulbs)
- Dart boards
