The South Dakota Collection is comprised of historic and contemporary works by South Dakota natives, individuals who have spent considerable time in the state or accomplished visual artists in the state. The collection is a mixture of photographs, ceramics, drawings, paintings, textiles and sculptures. As South Dakota's leading art museum, we have an ongoing responsibility to acquire, preserve and maintain records of the contributions made to the state's art and culture by its people.
Included in this collection are works by Arthur Amiotte, Grete Bodøgaard, Ada Caldwell, Palmer Eide, Grace Ann French, Charles Greener, Carol Hepper, Dale Lamphere, Hubert Mathieu, Madeline Ritz, Signe Stuart, Dick Termes and many others.
