Office of Title IX/Equal Opportunity responds to reports, concerns and inquiries about harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct. They assist students, employees, program participants and campus visitors, regardless of where the misconduct took place.
Accessible parking spaces are available for students, faculty, staff, and visitors in designated areas.
To use an accessible parking space, you must display a state-issued disability placard or license plate and have either a valid SDSU Economy Commuter permit associated with their vehicle or a current visitor permit/hangtag.
A state-issued disability placard is still required for short-term or temporary mobility disabilities or injuries. Special parking accommodations will not be granted without a valid state-issued placard. Each state has different procedures for obtaining a disability placard, so check with your doctor for more information. South Dakota residents can visit the South Dakota Department of Revenue's Disability Parking Page for more details.
The accommodation statement template as found in University Policy 5:14 states that "advertisements for non-instructional University events will include appropriate standardized symbols and a statement such as: Individuals with disabilities who would like to attend this event, please contact [insert event sponsor’s name and phone #] regarding any special accommodation needs. It is requested that individuals requiring auxiliary aids such as sign language interpreters and alternative format materials notify the event sponsor at least seven (7) working days in advance. Every reasonable effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations in an effective and timely manner.
The SDSU Web Services team has created a Web Content Accessibility Guide, explaining the standards and best practices for accessible digital design. Following these guidelines ensures that everyone can access necessary web content.
Examples: area needing snow removal or salt, physical barrier, automatic door opener not functioning, missing or unclear signage, etc.
Option 1: Complete the “Report a Concern for Non-Emergencies” Form
Option 2: Email the Office of Human Resources or phone at 605-688-4128
Option 3: Email Facilities and Services or phone at 605-688-4136
- For issues like a broken automatic door opener, a locked door blocking access, a physical barrier, or snow-covered areas, it might be quicker to contact Facilities and Services directly. However, the other options listed will also ensure the problem gets resolved.
