Business Economics
The major in business economics prepares students for a variety of business, management and finance careers. It balances the analytical and critical thinking skills of economic analysis with the theory and practice of business in support of decision making. The business economics degree leads to careers in banking and investments, marketing, sales, merchandising, human resource management, financial and managerial accounting, auditing, financial and market analysis, small business development and management, among many other career opportunities.
The curriculum emphasizes:
A core curriculum in organization and management, marketing, finance, accounting, data analysis, forecasting or operations analysis and a capstone experience that integrates and applies skills through the use of case studies and industry partner projects.

Degrees Offered
Students in business economics may choose to complete a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. The B.A. degree requires course work in a modern language, whereas the B.S. degree requires course work in the biological and physical sciences. We recommend a B.A. for students interested in pursuing a career in international economics or business.
