Student Learning Outcomes

Using Student Learning Outcomes to Measure Outcomes and Inform Practice

The Wintrode Student Success and Opportunity Center measures student learning through a comprehensive assessment plan that includes center-wide Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). Wintrode Center SLO’s, listed below, are based on CAS Standards and SDSU’s Co-curricular Assessment Domains. Assessment results are used to determine effectiveness and to inform program modifications and enhancements.

As a result of participating in Wintrode Student Success and Opportunity Center programs, students will:

  1. Develop personal, academic, and professional goals. (Practical Competence)
  2. Express confidence in their ability to achieve their goals. (Practical Competence)
  3. Develop knowledge of campus and community resources. (Practical Competence)
  4. Apply strategies to enhance their learning. (Practical Competence)
  5. Seek assistance from campus or community resources. (Interpersonal Competence)
  6. Develop a greater sense of belonging at SDSU. (Interpersonal Competence)
  7. Develop greater self-awareness. (Intrapersonal Competence)
  8. Use self-awareness to drive personal growth. (Intrapersonal Competence)
