Welcome to the ASRP Peer Mentor application process!
The Academic Success and Recovery Program (ASRP) supports students who are currently on probation or have been readmitted to South Dakota State University following suspension due to low academic achievement.
Everyone stumbles, but no one has to walk their path alone! If you are interested in assisting other Jackrabbits on their journey here at SDState, contact us to find out more about the Peer Mentor Job.
The ASRP Peer Mentor program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Mentors who meet class/training criteria and uphold the mentoring program policies are eligible to earn national certification status and pay increases for each level of certification.
Here's what you need to do:
- Complete the ASRP Peer Mentor Application to include your semester schedule.
- Attach an unofficial copy of your transcript, which can be printed from your ConnectState or DegreeWorks.
- Ask two individuals to complete a ASRP Peer Mentor Reference form on your behalf. These individuals should be people who can provide information about your academic work and personal skills, as well as your ability to motivate Academic Success & Recovery Program participants. Please do not use family or friends as a reference. At least one of your references should be a SDSU faculty or staff member.
