Math Help Center

The Math Help Center (MHC) provides free walk-in tutoring for students taking MATH 101, 103, 114, 115, 120, 121, 123 and 125 at SDState. The MHC is located in the Chicoine Architecture, Mathematics and Engineering building (AME or SAME) room 292.

On-campus tutoring hours for fall 2024:

  • Monday through Thursday, noon-6 p.m.
  • Friday, noon-4 p.m.

Appointments can be made via ConnectState.

STAT 281 Hours:
Help in STAT 281 is available on a walk-in basis when a statistics-qualified tutor is available.

Jacks LeaP

Math Classes with LeaP mentor groups: Math 114 (College Algebra), Math 121 (Survey of Calculus), Math 123 (Calculus).

FA24 Supplemental Labs

Online supplemental labs are available for Math 103 (students complete independently). Upload to D2L in the Dropbox and then do a reflection on their answers. Information available on the D2L content page under “extra credit”.

You will work in groups with your session leader using activities created by the Math 115 instructors. These activities are directly related to what you are doing in Math 115 and will help you understand concepts, practice ideas and prepare for the next topics you’ll learn in Precalculus.

Participate in Math 120 Supplemental Labs to get extra practice and help with the topics in Math 120.

Participation in a supplemental labs will earn you 2% bonus on the following test for a maximum of 6% bonus on each test. (If you go to more than three supplemental labs before a test, the extra 2% bonus earned will be applied to your Final Exam score.)

Participate in Math 121 Supplemental Labs to get extra practice and help with the topics in Math 121. (And earn some extra credit in the process!)
