The School of Performing Arts will be hosting SDSU Woodwind and Brass Day for high school woodwind players on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, on the campus of South Dakota State University. This day is dedicated to learning about all things woodwind-related. A variety of topics will be discussed including: tone production, scales, All-State Prep and warm ups. Current SDSU music students will be assisting throughout the day and will lead a discussion of opportunities to stay involved with music during college.
Special guests and events this year will take place due to the group The Queen's Cartoonists performing an evening concert on the night of Tuesday, November 19. All participants and teachers will receive free admission to the evening concert.
Students grade 9 and up are welcome and they will certainly take away information that will strengthen your band.
