Spark the curiosity and ambition of future scientists.
Everything you interact with, from the devices you use to the natural world around you, is governed by the principles of physics. Physics is often referred to as the foundational science because of its deep connections to other natural sciences and mathematics. Studying physics offers students vast opportunities to explore the unknown and address some of society’s most pressing scientific challenges. Engaging high-school students in the study of physics sets them up for academic success and excellent careers in STEM fields.
A B.S. degree in Physics – Science Teaching Specialization will prepare students for careers in high-quality teaching of physics at the middle and high school levels. The program is designed to produce highly qualified physics teachers to address local and national shortages. This degree is CAEP accredited and along with satisfactory performance on required praxis examinations satisfies State of South Dakota requirements for science teaching endorsement.
