Facilities and Services is here to serve the university community by maintaining the existing campus and supporting the expansion and growth of campus through project management and support. Our ultimate goal is a campus that is safe, attractive and supports the mission of South Dakota State University, which is to offer a rich academic experience in an environment of inclusion and access through inspired, student-centered education, creative activities and research, innovation and engagement that improves the quality of life in South Dakota, the region, the nation and the world. This guide will detail out the services offered by Facilities and Services, how they may be obtained and any financial considerations.
The services furnished by Facilities and Services include the operation, maintenance, repair and remodeling of university buildings and grounds and the operation and repair of certain types of equipment. A full listing of our services is included on these pages. Services that are covered under existing allocation are notated as Baseline Services.
The complex financial structure of the university and the diverse activities and sources of funding makes the responsibility for financing services difficult to place at times. Many questions may be unanswered in this guide; however, this guide will give you a better understanding of the role Facilities and Services has in university support.
