Higher Education Act of 1998
As a citizen of the United States, you have the privilege to vote on your county, state, and national leaders. As a part of the Higher Education Act of 1998, Congress directed schools receiving Federal financial aid to assist students who have not yet registered to vote.
Registering to Vote
For South Dakota Residents
As a South Dakota resident, you can submit a voter registration form from the Secretary of State's website. Once completed you should print and mail it to your respective County Auditor Office. To be eligible to vote in an election as a South Dakota resident, the voter registration form is to be received 15 days before the election.
For Other U.S. States
If your home state is another state, you may use the national voter registration form to register to vote.
