Donation for Collections
The museum collects and preserves artifacts related to agricultural history and rural life. The Beckman Archive specialized in tractor and implement brochures, parts catalogs and advertising. The photograph archive specializes in photographs of farming activities in South Dakota. This archive includes still and motion pictures. The Museum's library focuses on South Dakota agricultural history and personal stories relating to farming and ranching in South Dakota.
If you have an object that you believe played a significant roll in South Dakota's agricultural history, contact the Agricultural Heritage Museum. Describe the object to the best of your ability - what it is, size, age, condition and history. It would be very helpful to have photographs of the object.
Please remember the museum has only limited resources. Storage space is extremely limited and the museum staff must be very selective in acquiring new artifacts. Prospective gifts are carefully evaluated to ensure that they fit the museum's mission.
Monetary Donations
Private financial support of the museum is essential to the museum's continued growth. We do not charge admission and depend on state funds, our members, and the generosity of the public to keep our doors open to all. Contributions can be made by sending a check to the museum at South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum, Box 601, Brookings, SD 57007.
Or you can donate online at the SDSU Foundation/South Dakota Agricultural Heritage museum.
