The Brookings Chamber Music Society announces the rescheduling of its final concert of the season that was postponed due to weather.
Violinist SooBeen Lee will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in Founders Recital Hall in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
Lee has been praised by The Washington Post for her “poised presence, a luxurious sound, spot-on intonation and a bow arm that surely will be the envy of her peers.” She began studying the violin at the age of 4 and performs on a Giuseppe Guadagnini Cremona 1794 violin on loan from the Kumho Cultural Foundation.
She made her New York concerto debut as a soloist with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Alice Tully Hall. Her recent concerto appearances include the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Symphony, Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, Longwood Symphony Orchestra (Boston), Palm Beach Symphony and the Aiken Symphony.
Tickets are $20 and are available at the door 30 minutes before the performance. For more information, contact the South Dakota State University School of Performing Arts at 605-688-5187.
