Biography

Phuong Nguyen, an assistant professor in the Department of Construction and Operations Management, began teaching at South Dakota State University in Fall 2023 after his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alberta, Canada. His research focuses include applications of artificial intelligence (e.g., machine learning, reinforcement learning and fuzzy logic) and automation in construction; innovative project delivery and procurement methods; and improving construction labor productivity and safety using wearable sensors and computer visions.
