SDSU Graduate Programs in Education Application Process
Admission Requirements
Admission into graduate programs is regulated by the Graduate School. Information concerning the process is available through the Online Graduate Catalog. Admission requirements and application are available at Admissions.
SDSU Graduate School requires a 3.0 undergraduate GPA for unconditional admission to programs. If your GPA is lower than that, your application packet would need to reflect growth and preparation for a graduate program. Reviewers will place priority on your coursework and experiences related to the program to which you are applying. Applicants must provide a resume, transcript, goal statement which relates your purpose for pursuing our program, and two letters of professional reference to Education, Counseling and Human Development. Once all material is received, it is reviewed by the program faculty. Students are assigned an admission status of “unconditional,” “conditional” or “not admitted.”
Application Review Process
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications will be reviewed once all components are submitted with the Graduate School.
If an application is submitted and reviewed by October 1, a student can enroll in courses that begin in the second half of the fall semester.
If an application is submitted and reviewed by March 1, a student can enroll in courses that begin in the second half of the spring semester.
We encourage applicants to reach out to faculty about our graduate assistant opportunities.
