Choose a Philosophy minor to prepare your mind for the challenges of the 21st century.
Philosophy deals with the fundamental questions of life, including the nature of knowledge, the basis of morality and politics, and the rational analysis of religious beliefs. A philosophical perspective emphasizes clear thinking about what is truly important to live well, and study in philosophy develops critical reasoning, analytic problem-solving and writing skills applicable to a wide range of professions. In addition, the curriculum provides excellent preparation for graduate work in law, ethics, religion, philosophy and other fields in which reasoning and argumentation skills or ability to work at a high level of abstraction are important.
