About the series
In this podcast series, we dig deeper into healthcare simulation. The first few podcasts will focus on standards of best practice. Then we will focus on key topics such as the role of the simulation technologist, SSH certifications and enhancing simulation with interprofessional partners. New episodes will be released the first Thursday of each month.
Podcast listeners should feel free to reach out to the the SDSU simulation team via email.

Episode 8: Shattering Simulation Myths
This episode presents several common myths about simulation-based learning. Our panel of simulationists – Nicole Albert, M.S., RN, CNE, Allyson Stromer, M.S., RN and Megan Watson, M.S., RN, CHSE – field questions ranging from “Can learning occur in the observer role”, "Where did that curveball come from" to “Are virtual simulations really just video games?”. This episode is a must listen. These questions are likely to resonate with simulationists and non-simulationists alike. Our simulationist panel uses the evidence and the Simulation Standards of Best Practice to shed light on these common misconceptions.
