Eric Lohr, a senior majoring in music education, will present his senior recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the South Dakota State University campus.
The tenor vocalist and alto/tenor saxophonist from Sioux City, Iowa, will perform a vocal repertoire with work from Franz Schubert, Aaron Copland and other composers as well as works for solo saxophone and saxophone quartet.
He will be assisted by Deb Kalsbeck on piano and students Levi Gebhard, Alex Raether and Grant Wagner. Lohr’s primary instructor is Laura Diddle.
While at SDSU, Lohr has participated in Concert Choir, Statesmen, jazz ensembles, Wind Symphony and The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band. He has won soloist awards from the South Dakota Music Teachers Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing – South Dakota chapter.
