University Headquarters has South Dakota State University ranked No. 1 when it comes to offering bachelor's and master's degrees in South Dakota.
“Evaluation of universities by University HQ is based on more than accreditation. It includes admissions and retention rates, tuition costs, fees, degrees awarded, graduation rates and more,” said Julia Griebel, University Headquarters’ marketing manager about SDSU’s ranking.
“Further, the financial aid office provides excellent assistance to students seeking higher education,” she continued. “Approximately 95% of college students receive financial aid their first year, and in-state students pay about half as much per year as out-of-state students, around $9,200. For students who are ready to learn more and get engaged in their education, this school provides all the tools needed to succeed.”
To determine which colleges or universities are the best for students, University Headquarters starts by looking at accreditation. The Higher Learning Commission has accredited South Dakota State University since 1916, and SDSU received a full, 10-year reaccreditation in 2019-20. This type of accreditation is crucial for students as well as professionals who are looking for a boost in their careers.
“We are obviously very pleased to be recognized by University HQ with this ranking. South Dakota State University was founded on making high-quality academic programs accessible to all seeking academic opportunities. Rankings such as these demonstrate our deep and ongoing commitment to this central aspect of our university mission,” said Dennis Hedge, SDSU’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.
