Information about NSO accommodations.
The cost to attend an NSO session is FREE, but students and families can also choose to eat and sleep here for a minimal fee. The information below applies to first-time student sessions only.
Dine on campus.
Overnight options.
NSO starts bright and early in the morning during the summer, so we're offering students and guests the option to stay in a residence hall the night prior to their session. The cost is $25 per person per night.
To reserve space and pay for your stay, please call the Housing and Residential Life Office at 605-688-5148. Due to maintenance and renovation projects, as well as summer camps and conferences, we have limited space available during the June NSO sessions. Additionally, due to the drop and go move-in process, overnight accommodations on campus will not be available for the August NSO sessions. Options for staying off campus in Brookings are listed at the right.
Rooms include sheets, a blanket, pillow, towel and washcloth. Individuals should bring their own toiletries as needed. If you registered to stay overnight on campus, please check your Jacks email prior to your session for details on parking and check-in for your stay.
No overnight options are available for the Spring NSO Admit sessions due to the ongoing academic year housing needs. If you need overnight accommodations during this time, please see the hotel options on the right.
