Loren Lutz Teacher of the Year Award

This award is given each year to a teacher who dedicates their teaching career to utilizing and working with the NHD program. The 2021 recipient is Andrew Stewart from Jones County School District. Andrew’s nomination form says it best: "For Andrew, history education not just a job – it’s a passion. Andrew was a student who participated in the NHD program and has carried his pride and passion for NHD throughout his college career and into his professional career as well. He also utilizes NHD and project based learning in his classroom and not just with his NHD contest participants.
