So you want to be a nurse? The Army is always looking for medical personnel.
In addition to military science courses and your regular nursing classes, ROTC Nurse scholarship recipients gain valuable experience through the Nurse Summer Training Program (NSTP). Please view the U.S. Army's How to Be an Army Nurse for more information.
Whether you want to specialize in a particular area or start your career as a generalist, you must be able to direct others, especially in emergency situations. Army Nurse Corps Officers are leaders and managers. Military skill training is a vital part of the ROTC Nurse Program because it teaches the fundamentals of teamwork and group dynamics. Once you commission as an officer in the Army Nurse Corps, you will have the opportunities to apply for specialty courses.
