Biography
Marissa Trosen is the director of clinical education for the respiratory care program. While being employed at Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller, South Dakota she earned her Bachelor of Science in respiratory care. As a staff therapist at the hospital in Miller, Marissa saw patients in the home, inpatient and outpatient settings. In 2016 she was promoted to the director of ancillary services where she began splitting her time between administrative duties and patient care. As a hospital director Marissa oversaw the laboratory, radiology, therapy services and respiratory care departments. She was also the facility’s quality improvement leader, directing efforts to improve patient outcomes. In 2021 Marissa earned her master’s degree in public health, and in 2022 she began teaching for the SDSU respiratory care program as the instructor for the Introduction to the Respiratory Care Profession course. In 2023, Marissa transitioned to the director of clinical education role for the program.Education
