Biography

Dr. Lacy Knutson is a former SDSU graduate from the psychology department. After receiving her bachelor's from SDSU, she completed her masters in applied behavior analysis at St. Cloud State University. She has then spent the majority of her career working in the clinical field supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. After six years in the clinical field, she returned to school to further her education at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology receiving her doctorate degree in applied behavior analysis while working full-time as a training associate with the Center for Disabilities out of Sioux Falls and then the clinical director for a small company in Madison, Indiana. She is the founding member and first elected president of the South Dakota Association for Behavior Analysis (SDABA). It has been a great gift to have the opportunity to return to her alma mater and join some of her former faculty as colleagues! Her passions include the principles of learning, observing learning occur in all organisms, and growing the field to support more individuals. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking and training her dog, Eddison, and making trips to Kentucky to visit her niece and nephew.
