Biography

Working out of the Office of the President, Jamison provides direct event support to the President's and Provost's offices. Events he coordinates include, but not limited to, convocation, commencement, family weekend, Celebration of Faculty Excellence. He can also work in an advisory role to other departments on campus to launch new events or refresh an existing event.

A native of Brookings, Jamison attended SDSU for journalism and political science. Upon graduation his internship with the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce turned into a full-time position as assistant director. In that role he managed social media accounts, email newsletters and a monthly newspaper spread. In addition to his marketing duties, he also provide strategic direction and execution of five chamber committees' events and activities, along with annual community events like the Festival of Lights Parade, Chamber Annual Meeting and membership campaigns.

Returning to work for his alma mater in 2014, Jamison grew the professional and special programs division of Continuing and Distance Education form the ground up as the first full-time staff devoted to non-credit and academic conference planning. Creating a strong network on campus, his event planning and execution experience was capitalized on when named university events coordinator in July of 2016.

In service to the Brookings Community, Lamp serves on the board of directors for the Brookings Arts Council and Visit Brookings.
