Avera Wokini Scholarship program going strong
Established in 2018, the Avera Wokini Scholarship provides $5,000 annual scholarships to selected students at South Dakota State University who are enrolled members of federally recognized tribes and pursuing a degree in the health care field. The scholarship is renewable for up to five years.
SDSU commits to cost transparency
South Dakota State University has recently become one of more than 500 schools nationwide to be listed as a partner institution with the College Cost Transparency Initiative. In-state tuition for Minnesota residents makes SDSU best value among peer institutions
When the South Dakota Board of Regents extended the South Dakota Advantage tuition rate to Minnesota residents in December 2023, it made SDSU the best value for Minnesota residents among its peer institutions in Minnesota. South Dakota Advantage will offer in-state tuition to Minnesota residents enrolling as new students at SDSU starting summer 2024.

Today the South Dakota Board of Regents approved extending the South Dakota Advantage tuition rate to Minnesota residents, in addition to students from Kansas and Missouri, beginning this summer. The program offers students from those states South Dakota resident tuition rates.
Seten chosen for Rhodes Scholarship
South Dakota State University senior Hattie Seten became the university's second recipient of the Rhodes scholarship, announced Saturday. SDSU's first Rhodes scholar, Maj. Gen. Alan A. Nord ’52, earned a master’s degree in general chemistry from Oxford.
