Service Description
Statistical consulting services are available for current SDSU faculty, staff and students. The consulting will be provided by appointment. This consulting service will be carried out by graduate students, under the supervision of the faculty of the SDSU Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
The goal of the consulting service is to provide statistical and technological advice to researchers in other areas, so they can independently analyze their data. In addition, we will help researchers identify an appropriate statistical method for their specific data and to understand the statistical analyses and the software which they want to use.
We provide the following services:
- Study and experiment design.
- Statistical planning for grant writing.
- Power analysis / sample size determination.
- Choice of appropriate statistical methods.
- Understanding and interpreting the statistical analysis and the results.
Available Software
If needed, we offer help with following software:
R, SAS, SPSS, MATLAB, other statistical software if needed.
- It is worth mentioning that the data analysis process usually takes longer than people often plan for. Thus, to ensure you meet your deadlines, start early and set aside sufficient time to prepare your grant request or analyze your data.
- When working with sensitive data, it is the researchers’ responsibility to ensure that the data is secured during collection, transmission and storage.
- We cannot help you with your homework problem.
