T. Loren Christianson epitomizes the South Dakota Farmer who not only feeds his family and the world, but also is recognized as a visionary leader, and steward of natural resources.
As a member of the South Dakota House of Representatives for 18 years, Christianson worked diligently for the betterment of agriculture and education. He joined the entire State Legislature in a historic journey to Congress in the 1980s to bring attention to the farm situation in South Dakota. He was the vice chair of the Local Government Committee and served on the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the House Health and Welfare Committee. He has dedicated more than a quarter century of service to founding, and later expanding, of rural water systems in South Dakota. He served on the local school board, was a Deuel County Commissioner and Township Clerk. Loren and his wife Gladys have five children.
