Millie Gross has been a leader in the Lake County area for several years. There she has contributed greatly to the Lake County 4-H program through organizing exhibits and serving as a judge in the arts and crafts, clothing and food divisions. She has never failed to support the youth 4-Her's at the state fair.
Gross presently serves on the City of Madison's library board and is a member of the Madison Area Retired Teachers Associations, serving as co-treasurer and a longtime member of the PEO. She also helps in maintaining the Gross Store at Prairie Village and annually works in the auxiliary lunch stand at the jamboree.
Along with her husband, John, they have made numerous trips to Brookings to continue their support to South Dakota State University through athletic, foundation and alumni events. Gross especially enjoys the Home Economic gatherings at SDSU.
She also serves throughout her community by delivering Meals on Wheels, through Bible school and at the United Methodist Church events, at the Gathering meals and within the library in Madison. Her service is especially known within her church as she received an honorary membership as a younger woman.
Millie and her husband, John, have three children. John was recognized as an Eminent Farmer in 2008.
