Gene Hudson and her husband Richard farm and ranch near Midland. She has always had a keen interest in the education of children. She has been a teacher or substitute teacher since 1964.
Hudson is a life-long 4-H supporter. She was active as a 4-H member, earning a trip to the National Congress in Chicago. Later, her family hosted an IFYE exchange student from Ireland. For more than 20 years, she served as a 4-H leader. She was a member of the county and state 4-H Leaders Association, president of the Haakon/Jackson 4-H Council, and received the Haakon/Jackson "Friend of 4-H" Award. Gene also has served on the county and state Extension Advisory Boards.
She has been active in her church, serving as the Sunday school superintendent and teacher, as well as holding all offices on the church council.
Gene and Richard have three children.
