David Stenberg is a well-known cattle producer, raising both Polled Herford and Saler breeds. He has been involved in the farm real estate business, an auctioneer for many state breed associations and production sales in South Dakota. Stenberg bought his father s Polled Hereford herd in the late 1960s and has continued to improve the herd. He diversified his farm by incorporating Saler cattle into his operation. He has been active in both the Hereford Association as well as the Saler Association. He is a past president of the South Dakota Hereford Association, board member, and delegate to the National Hereford Convention for several years. Stenberg has also been a board member for the South Dakota Saler Association. He has served on a board as a director, helped with promotions and programs, helped organize farm/ranch tours, and helped with various activities and fundraising for the South Dakota Cattlemen's Association.
Stenberg has help positions on the Moody County Extension Board and Livestock Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Stenberg has been active in his community. He was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives for Moody County and served four years. He has served on the South Dakota State Highway Commission for four years. David has been involved with the Colman Community Club, Colman Community Choir, Trent Baptist Church Board of Deacons, Board of Trustees, Sunday school and Choir.
David and his wife Audrey have five children.
