Built in 1969, Young Hall is a co-ed residence hall located on the east side of campus. Young Hall houses 490 residents and is connected to Binnewies Hall by Larson Commons.
Building Description
Young Hall has laundry and a common study room on every floor and a kitchen in the lower level. There is also a mindfulness room that is open to all students.
Between Binnewies Hall and Young Hall, Larson Commons is available for dining and also a convenience store, Larson C-store.
Young Hall was named after Gertrude S. Young, a distinguished teacher of history at SDSU from 1907 until 1943. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1906 and in 1907 was named an instructor of the preparatory school on campus. In 1914 she became an assistant professor of history and in 1924 was named an associate professor.
