The University Police Department, located east of Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium, is the hub for campus safety. UPD is full-service provider of non-emergency and emergency public safety services.
Building Description
The University Police Department serves an important role in the safety and security of the campus community. It is a professional law enforcement organization that works diligently to be progressive, effective and efficient for the community it serves.
Nearly 30 staff members work in enforcement, evidence and dispatching. When visitors enter the lobby, dispatchers greet them when not taking incoming calls and monitoring campus cameras. Students can receive a copy of their own fingerprints to be submitted for various things such as background checks during walk-in hours.
Special access is required to get in other areas, but there is a large conference room for various meetings as well as offices and interview rooms.
A large, double garage bay is used for patrol cars. This space is also used for various officer training sessions.
