Welcome to the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South Dakota State University! One of eight colleges that make up SDSU, our college has an integral role in fulfilling the land grant mission of the university. In addition to six academic departments, the college is home to both SDSU Extension and the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. The SDSU West River Research and Extension is a satellite of the college, and serves as center for teaching, research, extension and outreach activities in the western part of the state. The college is the largest at SDSU in terms of student enrollment, faculty and staff and building space.

Precision Connect ’24 to showcase SDSU students’ ag internships

Nearly 100 South Dakota State University undergraduate students will showcase their ag industry internship experiences at Precision Connect ’24, Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Raven Precision Agriculture Center. This is the fourth annual Precision Connect event, started in conjunction with the 2021 opening of the center.

SDSU hosts taping of ‘AgDay College Roadshow’

With loud enthusiasm often reserved for athletic events, students, faculty and staff from South Dakota State University’s agricultural programs showed up in full force to welcome a live television taping of “AgDay College Roadshow” Oct. 30 on the SDSU campus.

Tools for the changing environment

The nation's leading bison Extension specialist, South Dakota State University's Jeff Martin, is involved in a $7.39 million, multi-institution cooperative agreement that will aid in bison recovery efforts and will provide local producers with the adaptation tools they need to compete in a dynamic world.
